SITOP Selectivity Modules

SITOP Selectivity Modules

SITOP Siemens selectivity modules provide an array of protection against overloads and short circuits. These modules are designed to distribute and monitor the load current over several current circuits. Overloads and short circuits on a circuit are reliably recognized and the faulty 24-V DC load circuit reliably disconnected, while the other loads continue with absolutely no interruption; this prevents the complete failure of the plant. These modules are designed to fit together with minimal engineering effort and continuously provide reliable protection.

Utilize Siemens Power Supply Diagnostics with Allen-Bradley PLC’s

Siemens Application Examples for: PSE200U | PSU6200 | SEL1200/SEL1400

Siemens power supply diagnostics can integrate with Allen-Bradley PLCs. The following Application Note goes through the step-by-step process to implement the Electro-Matic Diagnostic Block for Allen-Bradley PLC’s. It is intended as an addendum to the Application Examples provided by Siemens. Please note that the Electro-Matic Diagnostic Block supports the PSE200U, SEL1200, SEL1400 & PSU6200 modules. If you are interested in integrating Siemens power supplies and Siemens selectivity modules with Allen-Bradley PLC’s, our experts can provide you with further instructions and a software block download to help make integration easy.

Easy-to-Use Overload Protection

Take a closer look at how the SITOP selectivity modules work. This video looks specifically at the PSE200U selectivity diagnostics module, and shows how the module can protect against overloads and short circuits, while maximizing uptime. This module and similar modules not only protect the power supply, but also make maintenance and repairs easy with remote reset and easy-to-read indicator lights.

When an overload condition exists on a circuit, the module will show which specific output failed. The circuit can then be reset locally or with an optional remote reset. If a short circuit occurs, the module prevents the entire power supply from going down, and keeps the other outputs active. The module also makes it possible to stagger start-ups across different circuits, preventing all the power from being used at one time. These are just a few of the advantages that the SITOP selectivity modules provide. Watch the video to see how it works, or download the brochure to learn more about each module.
